How we pick products

• We compare several options in a category before naming a favorite.
• We confirm a product can actually be bought and is in stock before we publish.

How we test

• Products we recommend are used in real homes, and we say how long and under what conditions.
• We take our own measurements and photos and record prices with "as of" dates.
• If we haven't tested something ourselves, we say so and explain why it's included, such as strong agreement among verified buyers.

Lines we won't cross

• We never invent experience, testimonials, credentials or reviews.
• We never let advertisers or affiliate managers change our opinions.
• We never publish a "best of" list without comparing the options.
